Shibuichi ground, sukide takabori, zōgan iroe, zogan (四分一地象嵌

色絵象嵌). Edo Period, 17th century.

Goto Seijo worked in Kyōto earlier in his career and later moved to Edo, where he gained further notoriety as a master.

Second son of Gotō Ryūjō H 07623. Founder of Edo Gotō family School.

Examples of his work are very rare.

Investment grade kodogu. Listed in Hayes H 08067.0 V.3, p. 1610.
