Menpo From The Late Edo Period

Men-yoroi (面鎧), also called menpō (面頬) or mengu (面具), are various types of facial armour that were worn by the samurai class and their retainers in feudal Japan.

This particular menpo (mempo, mask) is a fine example from the late Edo Period.

It has been professionally restored to retain it’s patina.  The mustache was repaired.

A great focal point to any Japanese display.

Sized large for adult Samurai.
